1744 POP-UP RESTAURANT: MIAMI EDITION

WE BELIEVE THERE IS A NEED for gathering the voices of creatives, experts, truth-tellers, influencers and professionals, all around the same dining table! Individuals committed to discussing relevant topics, all the while sharing a magnificent culinary experiences, in a variety of cities across the country! We seek to add value to the progressive thought-leaders within our society, and we look to provide a platform, rooted in hospitality excellence, to amplify the discussion! One of the primary strategies for implementing our 1744 Pop-Up concept, is drawn from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. Our research indicates that individuals tend to be educated and affirmed, when engaging in activities that spark internal and external awareness of one’s own thoughts and feelings. Or goal at 1744 Pop-Up is to develop engaging, safe, and stylish spaces for our guests to genuinely interact and share their perspectives.

Our Miami Pop-up Dinner highlighted the critical topic of gentrification in key areas of Miami, such as Little Haiti, Liberty City and Overtown. Each detail, from our custom menu creations, to the custom designed décor, was specifically curated to stimulate engaging dialogue throughout the night… all while connecting our guests to the experience! We welcomed a diverse room of guests, ranging from industry leaders, local residence, social activists, business owners, and politicians. We challenged them to deepen their compassion, understanding, and viewpoint! During this event, The 1744 Pop-Up Restaurant showcased talented minority chefs from the African diaspora, including Jamaica, Barbados, and Haiti. These amazing, young and innovative chefs were able to demonstrate their culinary creativity and voice in a way that’s never been done before. “Culture” can be defined as a variety of things, ranging from racial, generational, and political, to religious, fashion, and belief systems…Our passion is to significantly increase the level off Cultural Competency throughout our world! We must aim to both “hear and understand” one another, in order to connect more deeply and to create solutions to the challenges that affects us ALL! 1744 Pop-Up is creating strong  platforms for this focused growth and our goal is to develop gatherings across the country, fill them with elements such as art, engaging activations, exhibits, expert panels, guided discussions and guest speakers…all highlighted by an amazing culinary experiences! We aim to unite progressive individuals, leaders from diverse platforms, influencers and corporate brands…all committed to advancing the conversation around cultural competency and solution generation!
